The Required Appliances In Water Testing Labs

By Marissa Velazquez

Equipments used in water testing labs are specially designed to examine and analyze industrial aqua as well as the H2O used in processing factories. There are analyzing equipments, chemical reagents which examine the quality of aqua, quality testing kits and other H20 solutions. These equipments are calibrated to give reliable and accurate results. Below are some of the common equipments used.

The BOD analyzer is used to check for short term biological oxygen demand in waste aqua. They have a software which handles data and an equipment control to allow for easy blending in any laboratory environment. Its features include a 10.4 inch touch screen which has enable flexibility due to the perfect viewing angles and graphics. It also allows for BOD and respiration activity to be visualized in real time and standard auto-clean option.

Another apparatus is a COD analyzer; this is used to establish the chemical oxygen demand of wastewater. It uses the principle that measures the absorption of UV light through saturated molecules. This equipment uses the latest technology to ensure fast and reliable results. It has a unique mechanism, which helps with controlling the temperature of the reacting solution.

A conductivity meter is one important tool in checking aqua pollution. It is used to study all H2O used in industrial boilers. In order to give reliable readings, it has an in built temperature stabilization process. It is designed to draw little amounts of power because it has a power regulator option. It operates by running through four steps and it does not require specialized skills to use.

A dissolved oxygen meter is another important tool used to estimate oxygen levels in aqua. It is also used when studying gaseous exchange in the soil, this process employs both the oxygen and carbon dioxide sensors to find out the respiration estimates in soil. This appliance is easy to use because of the semi automation together with auto compensation; it also has an auto shut off and consumption indicators.

An ion concentration meter is always used to establish the relation between two or more concentration standards. It has an inbuilt memory where it holds the information for comparison before displaying the reading. It occupies a small space as it is designed to operate from a bench top. It has features like large LCD for easy reading and enjoys structural strength for durability. Both the keyboard and display cannot be affected by water. It also has a provision for connection to a computer.

The PH meter checks for levels of acidic in aqua. It contains replaceable electrodes which act as the sensor in the solution. It also uses microprocessor-based functions to give the right results. This equipment is waterproof and very accurate.

An aqua toxicity analyzer is another equipment used in water testing labs to check for presence of contaminants like harmful chemicals or metals in aqua sources. An example of such chemicals is a pesticide. This equipment helps to analyze the toxicity of samples extracted from either surface aqua or sediments. They are easy to use, very reliable and are not very expensive.
