One of the best most challenging journeys you may ever go on is seeing what your body is capable of. Perhaps you are in shape, totally out of shape, or simply looking to lose some weight. However, developing a body that you can be proud, one that is very healthy, and allows you to really adore every possible last tiny inch of it truly is an amazing journey to undertake.

So what is the secret behind making an enduring change with your body?

Consistency and commitment.

There's nothing else like coming to the table every day and giving it your best shot. Your best effort must be yours and yours alone. Don't start comparing your journey to other journeys or else you'll become lackadaisical and daunted by the task at hand. As an alternative understand you are competing with yourself and yourself alone. Will there be times on your journey where you try and fail? Yes, many times. But each time you do, you should come back with a firm dedication to achieving something you've always really wanted. Consistency will keep you in the game and on the field each and every day. Without it, you'll suffer the the inescapable and bad reality of many new years resolutioners who give up each and every single year on developing the body of their dreams because they do not have the ability to keep on coming back again and againand again.

Commitment also is evoked, although not the commitment that you are probably thinking of. In our world, we are fed this strong idea that everything must occur at this time and if it does not actually happen now, it isn't worth it. Your body is going to change throughoutthe years, so why don't you make a lifetime commitment to remaining healthy? Is that a marketable and sellable idea? Not so much. But is it something that would really change the course of your life? Totally.

When you make a commitment to keeping your body healthy throughout your entire life, you will ultimately reach whatever goal you wish. It's about seeing the overall picture than simply the few months in front of you till summer. It is about developing something that you truly can be happy with for ever and ever. For me, that concept made my life different as I was able to finally hit my health goals after 12 years of wrestling with my self image and food issues. But as soon as I shifted my view of what I was trying to accomplish, everything I had wished for came to me. So try it on for size and see if it's working for you. Make a lifelong and relentless commitment to staying healthy and watch how much your body will change in the short term too.

Bring some commitment and consistency to the table, in all sides of your life, and things will change significantly.
