Trans fat is a bad fat that has been proven by medical physicians to be terrible for anybody's well being. The fats occur naturally in some foods such as meat. Despite this, several foodstuff we eat today have high cholesterol levels. Manufacturers normally use hydrogenated cooking oil that congeals when under room temperature. It is bad for your heart and health since it raises the bad levels of cholesterol but reduces the good levels of cholesterol. Moreover, these congealed oils last for a longer time span and hence most restaurants employ it in their deep frying machines because constant changing of oils is not required and it saves them money. Other delicacies like pie crusts and pies contain this harmful hydrogenated oil. They are some of the bake foods that have high cholesterol amounts. In addition, many individuals enjoy eating pies since they are sweet; as a result, they are a higher risk of contracting heart-related illnesses.

Snacks such as microwave popcorn also have this trans fat. Even though popcorn are always considered to be healthy, they can at times contain the dangerous substance. They are made with lots of salt and oils that have solidified. And since many people are warming up to the microwave popcorn, heart diseases are significantly increasing. The toppings that come with the packaged popcorn can also contain the harmful substance.

Doughnuts are palatable delicacies that many people in the society love. However, they are known to contain trans fat that are obtained from the oil used in deep frying the doughnuts. You can substitute doughnuts with English muffins, whole grain toasts and bran muffins that have the needed cholesterol level.

Frozen foods are other foods that have this hazardous substance. Although they might have good nutrients, they may be harmful; it is, therefore, imperative to check food package levels for cholesterol amount. Another issue to consider is the food is cooked. It should be prepared using the oils like olive oil.

In supermarkets, you will find dessert mixes like cakes. They save us time by reducing the time we use in preparing the ingredients but they contain bad cholesterol. Manufacturers utilize hydrogenated oils in making these mixes. For this reason, you can choose to protect your heart by preparing the mixture yourself using the necessary ingredients. Also, ensure you use the right oil and powdered sugar for toppings as a substitute for frosting.

In conclusion, always make sure that check food labels to know the amount of trans fat available. Checking the ingredient list for hydrogenated cooking oil is also a prerequisite so as to avoid heart-related diseases.
